Descrizione

Il talco è un minerale chiamato silicato di magnesio idrato contenente talvolta una piccola porzione di silicato di alluminio. Il talco può essere contaminato con fibre di amianto, ponendo rischi di tossicità respiratoria e cancro. Gli studi condotti dal National Toxicology Panel hanno dimostrato che anche il talco per uso cosmetico privo di amianto è una forma di silicato di magnesio che può essere tossico e cancerogeno.
