può provocare reazioni allergiche. le concentrazioni specificate nei cosmetici è sicuro e non dovrebbero causare irritazione della pelle. gli studi dimostrano qualsiasi irritazione ed effetti negativi sul feto in concentrazioni superiori al 5% alcool benzilico, tuttavia, non è presente nei cosmetici a tali concentrazioni elevate.
